our origin

CuteGecko Inc. is creative design; the result of 12 years of experience in the new media, design & marketing industry. Our mission is to strengthen brand positioning through developing and delivering engaging designs and innovative marketing communications.

our origins

Established in Australia in 2008, CuteGecko is the brainchild of Karl Allen-Muncey and Amy Vandenberg. After teaming up with the brilliant Stephen Hardwick, CuteGecko began to expand. Although they were enjoying rapid growth, Amy wanted to return to Canada, so in April of 2009 Karl and Amy brought their talents to Waterloo Region. There they began their quest to integrate themselves into the community. Since that time, Karl and Amy have been thrilled at the amount of community support, and can't imagine being anywhere else.

our values

CuteGecko's proactive involvement in the community emerges from the brand promise: "success through collaboration". We believe strongly in building long-term relationships within the community, offering customized design services to help build our clients' businesses.

Karl Allen-Muncey

Creative Director

KArl Allen-Muncey

Over the past twelve years, Karl has been building businesses. His skills and responsibilities have included running companies and managing large scale projects since setting up his first IT support consultancy in 2000. Since then, Karl has been focusing on graphic design, corporate image management, marketing and branding. In addition, he has developed extended project management skills. Karl has written for business sections in newspapers and magazines as well as being involved in many charitable, sponsorship and membership based organizations. Keen to be involved with Business and Networking, Karl has been invited to sit on the Executive board of Chambers of Commerce both in the United Kingdom, and Australia. He is heavily involved with Movember and Foodlink, and is very pleased to be a contributing part of the community. He regularly gives advice and assistance to other networking organizations. Notable skill sets and experience: Large scale website developments, including regional local business awards and international marketing sites for companies such as MTV as a sub-site to the MTV Video Music Awards, Asia, and heading up the Movember initiative in the Tricities and London.

Amy Vandenberg

Art Director and Graphic Designer

Amy Vandenberg

Through her studies at Carleton University and Fanshawe College, Amy honed her craft over several years. After applying herself on a freelance basis to a large number of projects, Amy began to pursue CuteGecko full time in 2008 in conjunction with Karl. Amy's ability to absorb a vision and turn it into reality has impressed clients from a wide range of backgrounds, and her sensitivity to colour and typography allow her to excel at establishing and managing complete brand development. Along with her passion and dedication to clients' needs, Amy maintains her high level of service though keeping up to date with current design trends as well as using the latest Graphic Design and development packages. More recently, Amy has been nominated for Kitchener-Waterloo's Women of the Year Award as well as Young Entrepreneur of the Year by the Chamber of Commerce.å
