Bad Romance by Lady GagaWe received some wonderful news on Friday afternoon. Our good friends, the tinyHippos have been acquired by RIM (Research In Motion), makers of Blackberry. All of us here at CuteGecko would like to announce a heartfelt congratulations to Dan, PJ, Brent, Gord and Mark. Thank you for showing us that hard work really does pay off!
We first met Dan, one of the three founders, at his locally organized event, Startup Drinks, in December of 2009. We immediately hit it off (perhaps because of the similarities of our company names?) and were happy to meet the rest of the team. In February of 2010, both of our companies moved into a shared house where they developed their product, the Ripple Mobile Environment Emulator, and we grew our design agency.
While collaborating and evolving, we both expanded and in November we landed ourselves 2 doors down from each other in offices at The Tannery in Kitchener.
Throughout this experience, we’ve greatly enjoyed watching ‘the Hippos’ grow into success so rapidly.
We’re going to miss them as our neighbours here at work but know we’ll always have them as friends.
